One Life

In just one life we live so many
trying to set things right
trying to touch as many

with just one smile we can cheer up so many
in the darkest of nights
we can light up so many

yes we all have a story
but not everybody has time
like we all have got words
but they don't always rhyme

yes we get tired of running
seeking a simple way
but if we know what's coming
for what will we pray

one moment we think we have it all
it can't get better but then we fall
day turns to night night turns to day
but we keep it inside what we wanted to say

in just one day it turns all around
someone close as your shadow
is not to be found

still in just one life we live so many
trying to set things right

The Weather

We can try but can never be sure of the weather
but the leaves will fall one day or the other
its like a truth, its like a writing on the wall
all I'm gonna make sure is that my tree doesn't fall

the things I didn't get
moments of regret
the tears that I shed
I just want to forget

'cause in front of me
is my life i can see
just waiting to be
hugged in my arms tightly

its real I know
but is hidden below
the light I want to see
is soaked up in me

there's a song I keep singing
there's a hope it keeps bringing
half filled or half empty
I just want to keep drinking

'cause we can try but can never be sure of the weather
but the leaves will fall one day or the other

Not Everybody...

when there is light coming through mist
you start to think you're gonna own that one ray
but the moment you close your fist
you come to know it wasn't meant to be that way

you wanted to fly but you never had wings
and you were wrong about a lot of things

you wanted to hide but your eyes couldn't decide
the look on your face said what's going inside

no matter what you do, or how much you cry
you'll never know the reason why....

Not everybody feels the dew with their eyes
Not everybody kisses the rain
So I guess its now time for me to realize
Not everybody feels the same

It takes a while for the sun to rise
'til it lightens up our lane
So I think its always our choice
whether to cry or smile in pain

I sit by the Ocean and watch it disappear
light fades at the horizon & I wish you were here

no matter what I do, or how much i try
I still don't know the reason why...
