Rusty Strings

some chords have said their last goodbye
to the rusty strings of my guitar
the broken clock's no alibi
words unspoken left a scar

the world's spinning round
but I feel its going down
they kill they lie
they hurt their own
love will not die
but it is dethroned

every meaning has changed and words have new names
self respect had its days, now its all about fame
what was bad is now cool, being good is now lame

you know that your conscience

crashed into the ground
you long for public approval
drowning out the inner sound

giving in to the temptations
in the name of 'just trying'
you do things outta frustration
to yourself you are lying

I don't mind if you call me a loner
because I understand
I like the power walking sober
when you cant even stand

you think of money, you stink of lust
your feelings faded, your heart jaded
now you search for your soul
that denuded with disgust

Not all that goes up has to descend
I'm just an observer, observing the trend

but some chords have said their last goodbye
to the rusty strings of my guitar
He still watches from above the sky
whatever we do, whoever we are...
